Malabar Tour 2001
It was 30 degrees when we woke Saturday morning so we hung around for some coffee, oatmeal and hot muffins made by the Hostel Manager (thanks to Betsy Rush for the muffins and taking our picture). We finally left around 9 am for a short ride to Butler for more breakfast before the 60 mile ride back to Wellington. (left to right) John Wasko, Ron Corey, Bob Parry, Bonnie Vargo, Marty Cooperman, and John Koch.
After about 4 miles at Jones and West Road outside of Wellington we stopped to take off jackets as the temperature was getting warm maybe 60 degrees. What a great selection of touring bikes fitted out with panniers, fenders and comfy wide tires.
We arrived at the hostel around 5:30pm and had time to check in, wash-up and change into our civilian clothes for our great dinner at the Malabar Inn.
